Intercultural Collaborative Learning System
Multicultural Campus Project Toward Social Impact

OVERVIEW

Cultivating Peace-pursuing, Cultured Individuals
with an International Mindset and a Challenging Spirit

This project has four key features:

1. Evolution of Peace Education into Multicultural Collaborative Learning

Hiroshima University has developed a rich tradition of peace education. This initiative advances it further by integrating the concept of new peace science, which aims to achieve sustainable multicultural coexistence, into a new form of multicultural collaborative education.

2. Introduction of Experiential and Inquiry-Based Learning (EIBL)

As a new educational approach, Hiroshima University, in collaboration with Arizona State University, has developed Experiential and Inquiry-Based Learning (EIBL). This approach will be implemented in multicultural collaborative undergraduate education.

3. Expansion from Regional Co-Creation Research to Education

Under the Town & Gown Initiative, the project aims to address regional challenges in Higashihiroshima City. By applying Hiroshima University’s research to real-world social implementations, the “Regional Co-Creation Research (COMMON PROJECT)” framework will also be utilized in multicultural collaborative education programs.

4. Step-Up Multicultural Collaborative Learning System

A step-up educational system will be established, combining domestic peace-oriented collaborative education with international programs. This system extends from general education to graduate education, enabling global talent development through progressive skill enhancement and advanced career planning.
